A major global health issue brought to my attention while in Mysore is the lack of government programing for HPV & cervical cancer prevention/education.

In India, cervical cancer is the 2nd most prevalent cancer, with an estimated 67,000 deaths annually.

Therefore, a few of my fellows and I created a campaign to help PHRII provide free screenings to women in rural areas of Mysore.

During my study abroad, I helped set up a mobile cervical cancer screening clinic in the village of Sagarkatte, which made me admire the women at PHRII even more after witnessing their generosity and desire to make a difference in the women they help.
